October 1, 2025 – The 2026 Scholastic Awards season kicks off! As of this day, the Awards are officially open to enter.  Log in to your dashboard to update your information and begin the entry process.

December 9, 2025 at 11:59 PM ESTNYC regional deadline for entries. All works MUST be completed and submitted online through teen dashboards by 11:59 pm EST.

January 29, 2026 – NYC Regional Award Announcement Day! Check your  to see if you received a regional award. Award recipients will find congratulatory letters and certificates in their dashboard. A list of NYC regional award recipients will be published on the regional program page.

February 5-7, 2026 – Artwork Drop Off

Selected Gold Key winners will be contacted and instructed to drop off one winning artwork. Note: not every Gold Key-winning teen will be asked to drop off their original work. Some works will be reproduced digitally by the Alliance team.

Saturday and Sunday, March 7-8 TBC, 2026 – 2026 New York City Regional Awards Ceremonies

Student winners are invited to be honored at the 2026 NYC Regional Awards Ceremony. Silver Key, Honorable Mention and Gold Key students unable to attend in person can join our Regional Awards Ceremony, March TBC at 7 PM ET on YouTube Premiere. Visit the NYC Blog or for more information. More details will be emailed to award-winning students, parents and educators. Please make sure to add nyc@artandwriting.org to your contact list.

Note: Regional Awards Ceremonies are organized by type of work and grade. If you are a Gold Key-winning student, please verify which Award Ceremony you should attend before registering. Please arrive 15-30 minutes before the scheduled time to be check-in and be seated.

Friday, March 20 or 27 TBD, 2026, 6 PM – 8 PM EST – New York City Scholastic Awards Regional Gold Key Exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art Opening Reception. Join us at the Opening Reception for art-making, live performances, raffles, and more. View artworks, film & animations. Read writing works. And connect with fellow writers and artists.

On View Friday, March TBD – May TBD – Visit The Metropolitan Museum of Art to view the Regional Gold Key Exhibition featuring award-winning art and writing work by teens from the New York City Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

March 25, 2026 – National Award Announcement Day! On this day, all Gold Key Award winners and American Voices & Visions Nominees should check  or their  to see if they received a 2025 National Medal.
