Hot Air Balloon

when you’ve found
the fire whose gentle
warmth steadily fuels
your impassioned soul,
together we’ll float past
castles of clouds as
we paint the sky
full of memories
with our lives as
the palettes we
add to with each
new experience
and the rain as
our thinner before
the sun sets, draining
me of color, leaving
only your silhouette,
when we’ll sit down
and wait in our wicker
basket for the moon and
stars to shine through
the backdrop of soot
towards home
