It’s been a long time coming, but it’s Regional Announcement Day! Thank you to participating students, parents, educators and friends who supported the Scholastic Awards. This year over 3,500 students in grades 7–12 submitted over 13,000 works to the New York City Region of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, representing schools in all five boroughs.
First and foremost, congratulations to all of our participating teens for sharing your voice with us. And a special congratulations to our 2024 New York City Scholastic Awards Honorable Mention, Silver Key and Gold Key winners!
ON FRIDAY, MARCH 29, 2024 CHECK YOUR DASHBOARD
All participating students are encouraged to check if they received a New York City Regional Scholastic Award. Login portal.artandwriting.org. Be sure to download certificates of participation and regional certificates directly from student accounts.
Regional Awards Include:
Gold Key – The very best works submitted to local programs. Gold Key works are automatically considered for national–level recognition.
Silver Key – Stand-out works submitted that demonstrate exceptional ability.
Honorable Mention – Accomplished works submitted to local programs showing great skill and potential. Keep honing your craft and submit again next year!
American Visions Nominees – Five works, from across all categories and grades, are selected from those earning Gold Keys as the “Best-of-Show” for each local program as nominees for the American Visions & Voices Medals.
REGIONAL GOLD KEYS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED AT THE REGIONAL AWARDS CEREMONIES, MAY 4-5, 2024! REGIONAL SILVER KEYS WILL BE MAILED TO STUDENT RESIDENCES OVER THE SUMMER!

Gold Key winners are invited to be recognized at the 2024 NYC Regional Awards Ceremony. Silver Key and Honorable Mention winners will be invited to participate in the virtual livestream on May 14. More details will be emailed to award-winning students, parents, and educators in April.
